I am a tool stickler. Not so much as in trying everything there is. In a strong opinion, stick to stuff, still managing to be amazed by new finds kind of way.

You’ll find none of the usual things like BarTender or BetterTouchTool. I cannot see any use cases for them. MacOS is clean where it needs to be, and flexible where it needs to be.
Over time came to prefer software developed by smaller studios or solo devs. Take Scrutiny as a prime example in that category.
Shiela Dixon develops, quote, “Industrial-strength software with a feather-light feel.” If you need to check websites’ links, references or metadata, use Scrutiny.
Gladys is another find in the category of solo devs churning out great products. The name is Paul Tsochantaris, and Gladys, running on my iPhone and MBP, makes my life so much easier. Paul develops Gladys in his spare-time.
Other examples are DEVONthink, Feedly, MoneyMoney.
